The free tango manual has helped organizers all over the world
The Tango Manual is a proven, tested tango movement curriculum that provides programmatic structure for the first year of a tango dancer’s life. It is organized to support peer-to-peer learning in labs or prácticas.
Bite-size lessons: The Tango Manual breaks tango down into digestible bite-size lessons. These lessons are granular and specific, and include instructions on how a slightly more experienced dancer can help a beginner learn them. In total, there are 38 lessons across the 6 levels.
Peer teaching guides: Each lesson includes brief, bulleted instructions to dancers on how to help the learner, along with a concise, succinct, modular video recap (under 1 minute each) that will help remind you of the core elements.
Effective scaffolding: The counterintuitive but proven progressive sequence the six levels in the Tango Manual builds more complex material on top of more accessible material, making life easier both for beginners and their helpers.
Social learning framework: The program includes a basic tango glossary, a tango foundations rubric with the 12 fundamental techniques of tango, and guidance on how to teach a mini-lesson.
The Tango Manual is a solid, actionable system “tango-in-a-box” that you can start using right away. Benefits are:
